Types Of Blackjack

Compared to any casino game, blackjack has the most different types of games that have appeared throughout the existence of blackjack and continue to appear today. However, the basic principle of blackjack remains the same – to collect points that will be higher than the dealer’s and will not exceed 21 points.

Since blackjack is a huge variety, let’s consider some of the most common versions of the game: European Blackjack, American Blackjack, Spanish Blackjack.

European Blackjack.

The European version of blackjack is not much different from the original classic blackjack game. The rules of the game are identical and European Blackjack is played with two standard decks of cards.

In the European version of Blackjack, the combination of Blackjack beats any other hand with 21 points. Advantages of cards are estimated, as well as in classical blackjack: from ten to king – 10 points, ace – 1/11 points, and all other cards according to their face value. During the game, the player can get up to 9 extra cards to collect the combination.

If the dealer has 17 points (or more), he stops collecting cards according to the rules. And if the dealer has less than 17 points, then he will surely get the card. If the dealer collects blackjack, the players lose all bets except the insurance. Blackjack insurance is available if the dealer’s initial card is an ace.

American Blackjack

American Blackjack also has several versions, such as the popular games Vegas Blackjack and Atlantic City Blackjack.

Vegas Blackjack has the following rule: if the dealer’s original card is 10 points or it’s an ace, then the dealer immediately watches the next card (without showing it to the players), and if he has a combination of blackjack, then players lose and lose their bets immediately (exception if the player also has blackjack). Vegas Blackjack is usually played with two standard decks.

In Atlantic City Blackjack, the dealer also watches the next card when he has an ace or ten and makes a blackjack test. If the dealer has a combination of blackjack, then players lose. This type of blackjack is usually played with eight decks of cards. In Atlantic City Blackjack a player can double his bet even after splitting, and also can double his bet again after splitting.

Spanish Blackjack

The Spanish version of blackjack has significant differences from all other species. The main difference is that the game is played by 8 Spanish card decks, which, unlike the standard deck, consists of 48 cards instead of 52. And this difference gives the casino even more advantage over players.

Otherwise, the game is almost identical to the classical kind of blackjack, except that the player can break cards three times, i.e. play for four hands at once.
